How we collect

  • Stakeholder interviewsBusiness owners: volumes, work time versus waiting time, outcomes, targetsRuns today
  • AutomatedCopilot and app usage from Graph: licensed, active, repeat usersRuns today
  • AutomatedROI engines price each candidateRuns today
  • Uses your existing assessmentsBusiness cases and pilot results you already havePlanned

Status labels show what runs today, what needs an export or setup from you, and what is planned.

What you get

  • Use-case register ranked by value, cost and risk
  • Process check: waiting and handoffs are not AI problems
  • Adoption funnel from licensed to proven value

Questions we ask

  • What does success look like in numbers?

Value and ROI per AI use
What it is

Cost per outcome, total cost of ownership and payback for each AI use, measured against the result it was approved for.

Why it is needed

AI that costs more than the work it replaces should be changed or stopped, and that needs numbers.

Why enterprises need it

Boards ask what AI returns. Product owners need proof to keep funding.

Purpose and intake approval
What it is

Each new AI use states the business purpose, the users, the data it needs and the expected cost before it is approved.

Why it is needed

Without a stated purpose there is nothing to judge access, data use or spend against, so every request looks reasonable.

Why enterprises need it

Teams want AI quickly. A light intake with clear rules lets low-risk uses through in a day and slows only the ones that need it.

Methodology

  • All prices are USD per 1 million tokens, current as of 2026-10-18.
  • Vendor-published values have no mark. Inferred/extrapolated values are marked with * and listed below.
  • Batch API discounts are 50% off standard rates across providers that offer Batch mode.
  • Prompt caching discounts vary by provider (typically 80-90% off cached input tokens).
  • Regional data-residency surcharges (Anthropic 1.1x, OpenAI 1.1x, Google regional tiers) are NOT included in base rates.
  • Long-context pricing tiers apply when input exceeds model threshold.
  • Embedding prices are input-only (no output tokens generated).

Last-verified date is the most recent successful daily snapshot (aicost_pricing_snapshots) or, when no snapshot exists yet, the latest successful crawler run (aicost_crawler_runs). 10 of 10 vendors are currently verified. Aggregator services (TokenCost, AI Pricing Guru, etc.) are not listed.
