CostProtect Step 3 of 4

Keep every AI workload inside your rules, with evidence to show it

CostProtect is AI governance that runs: approved models by data class, approval gates and guardrails become policy your gateway enforces, re-checked as prices, models and usage change.

  • Savings that never break a data, privacy or quality rule
  • Every policy change versioned, approved and logged
  • Evidence mapped to EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001 and SOC 2

Builds onTakes the findings from CostAssess and the limits from CostWall.
FeedsApproved rules go back into CostWall; evidence from CostProof feeds your audit pack.

What you get

Cost control within your governance envelope

Every cost lever is checked against your data classes, approved vendors and quality floor.

Approvals with a record

Owners sign off; every change is a new version with a diff.

Always re-checked

Assurance tests re-run on every price, model or policy change.

Audit-ready evidence

One evidence journal for your auditors, regulators and board.

How it works

  1. Detect

Drift, a new model, a price change or a new workload is spotted by the engines.

  2. Propose

A new policy version with the cost and risk effect of the change.

  3. Approve

The owner signs off; the diff and the reason are recorded.

  4. Deploy

The rule goes to your gateway and is tested before it counts.

Works with what you already run

  • Microsoft Graph
  • Intune
  • ServiceNow
  • OneTrust
  • Credo AI

AICost.ai pricing data keeps our calculations accurate across top AI and cloud vendors · last updated 2026-10-24

Methodology

  • All prices are USD per 1 million tokens, current as of 2026-10-24.
  • Vendor-published values have no mark. Inferred/extrapolated values are marked with * and listed below.
  • Batch API discounts are 50% off standard rates across providers that offer Batch mode.
  • Prompt caching discounts vary by provider (typically 80-90% off cached input tokens).
  • Regional data-residency surcharges (Anthropic 1.1x, OpenAI 1.1x, Google regional tiers) are NOT included in base rates.
  • Long-context pricing tiers apply when input exceeds model threshold.
  • Embedding prices are input-only (no output tokens generated).

Primary sources

Last-verified date is the most recent successful daily snapshot (aicost_pricing_snapshots) or, when no snapshot exists yet, the latest successful crawler run (aicost_crawler_runs). 10 of 10 vendors are currently verified. Aggregator services (TokenCost, AI Pricing Guru, etc.) are not listed.
