🌎 Region Cost Map

What this calculator does

Compare what the same AI model costs across cloud regions, and see where data-residency requirements add a premium.

Why use it
  • The same model can cost noticeably more in some regions (local capacity, data-residency surcharges).
  • If you must keep data in-region for compliance, this shows the premium you are paying for it.

New to this calculator? Start with the ⚡ Playground — a few sliders, instant ballpark. Then switch to the 🧮 Calculator for your exact number.

Two ways to use this: visualize in the Playground, then get your number in the Calculator.

What does your region cost vs the cheapest?

Takes baseline (cheapest-region) cost and adds a premium for your region and compliance constraints.

Estimated monthly cost
Change the input sliders below to see new estimates.

How we got this estimate

💡Cost = base × (1 + region premium × compliance constraint). The effective premium is in “Why this number”.

Compare per-region AI pricing. Data residency premiums vary 0-25% across regions for the same model.

* Inferred values are extrapolated from regional pricing patterns where the vendor doesn't publish explicit per-region rates. Hover for source notes. Pricing for Claude Haiku 4.5 via native at $1.00 in / $5.00 out per 1M tokens (us-east reference).

ℹ Uniform pricing: Anthropic's native API uses the same rate globally. Pick the region nearest your users for latency.
📖 Data sources & methodology 163 text models · 9 embeddings · 37 vision · 55 audio · 8 vector DBs across 10 vendor pages · last verified 2026-07-28

Methodology

  • All prices are USD per 1 million tokens, current as of 2026-07-28.
  • Vendor-published values have no mark. Inferred/extrapolated values are marked with * and listed below.
  • Batch API discounts are 50% off standard rates across providers that offer Batch mode.
  • Prompt caching discounts vary by provider (typically 80-90% off cached input tokens).
  • Regional data-residency surcharges (Anthropic 1.1x, OpenAI 1.1x, Google regional tiers) are NOT included in base rates.
  • Long-context pricing tiers apply when input exceeds model threshold.
  • Embedding prices are input-only (no output tokens generated).
